Holroyd High School is a comprehensive, co-educational high school with a focus on quality learning in a safe, well-disciplined and supportive environment that fosters individual excellence and the achievement of personal goals. The school has strong links with outside agencies and three universities in Sydney, including an Early Entry Program with UTS.
The school's motto is progrediamur, which is Latin for 'let us go forward'. Students are encouraged to proudly uphold this motto by striving to better themselves, to do their best, to work hard and to contribute to the school and the community. The aim of the school is to develop students intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally.
In the high school, students are offered a wide range of subjects including English, mathematics, science, Human Society and its Environment, languages, technological and applied studies, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, visual arts, music, drama. Students receive additional support by specialist English as an Additional Language or Dialect teachers (EAL/D).
The main focus in the IEC is on learning english to an intermediate level. After 2 terms of intensive learning in the IEC, students progress to high school. Students who require a further extension are offered additional time to improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. The students also study other key learning areas (KLAs) such as mathematics, science, history, geography, art, music, food technology, computer studies and physical education.
Besides classroom activities, the school offers many extracurricular activities such as sport, swimming, athletics and cross country carnivals, excursions around Sydney, overnight camps, music, drama, chess, and multicultural activities.

Holroyd High School is located in the western suburbs of Sydney near Parramatta. The closest train station is Merrylands. School buses depart Parramatta station and Merrylands station from approximately 8:00am each morning. Public bus routes 809, 802, 803, 804 and 806 from these stations also service the school.
